Who We Are
Updraft Paragliding is a paragliding school created to deliver the need for high quality flight training in Hong Kong. Our school founders, Jackie and Herman, are two of Hong Kong’s most passionate pilots. Our focus is only safety, by developing the right skills and mentality needed for pilots to mitigate all risk, every flight.
Our Instructors
Jackie
Flying commercial airplanes since 2003, and paragliding since 2014. Jackie brings his flying experience into paragliding, with emphasis on a structured approach to learning to fly. He is also a keen cross-country competition pilot and acro enthusiast.
Herman
Herman is a true cross country competition pilot with a professional background in psychiatric nursing. He has represented Hong Kong in the Asian Games, and the Paragliding World Cup. Highest ranking - 14th in Asia-Oceania, and 1st in Hong Kong. Herman is in charge of our theory course development as well as Chinese language theory course.
Micky
With more than 30 years of flying experience and having participated in the first Paragliding World Cup in 1993, Micky is no stranger to the podium of international competitions. Micky is also a professional helicopter pilot on top of being a paragliding instructor.
Estee

Estee is an expert at everything, except flying… but she’ll be organizing your training so please be nice to her.
